Study on cardiovascular prevention in Cabo Verde launched today in Praia

Praia, May 28 (Inforpress) - Patrícia Coelho, a Portuguese cardiopneumologist, and her team are presenting today in Praia a practical study of the results of scientific research into the prevalence and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in the country.

The event is being organised by the Municipal Assembly of Praia, in partnership with the Portuguese Medical Association, in a session that will be attended by local authorities, health professionals, institutional representatives and the general public.

The study, carried out on the island of Santiago, takes an in-depth look at the reality of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the national context, highlighting relevant data on the impact of these pathologies on the adult population.

The work of this doctor, researcher and university professor is intended to serve as a basis for the development of more effective public policies and prevention strategies adapted to the Cape Verdean reality.
