Praia, Apr 9 (Inforpress) - The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sotavento (CCS) said today that Cabo Verde will have no major problems with the imposition of ‘reciprocal tariffs’ on all imports by the United States of America (USA).
Marcos Rodrigues made these remarks to Inforpress in reaction to US President Donald Trump's decision and Fitch Ratings' forecast that many countries could fall into economic recession.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sotavento recalled that Cabo Verde was only imposed a minimum rate of 10 per cent (%) because it has neither medium nor intense trade relations with the United States.
‘There are no major problems, because we are neither large-scale exporters nor large-scale importers of American products,’ he commented, adding that the tax placed on the country was just a preventative measure.
