Praia, Apr 8 (Inforpress) - Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva stressed on Monday in Praia the importance of accounting for the impact of major events such as the Atlantic Music Expo, not only in economic terms, but also in terms of the country's international projection.
The Head of Government made these statements to the press when asked, at the opening of the Atlantic Music Expo (AME) 2025, about the realisation of a study to assess the economic weight of culture, especially in the city of Praia.
According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, the AME, like the Kriol Jazz Festival, is one of the country's biggest and most important cultural and musical events, held in the city of Praia, and has had a strong impact on the economy and the international projection of the archipelago, hence the need to account for these impacts.
"They told me they're going to do an impact study. Because the hotels are full, restaurants, entertainment venues. This means the economy. Then there are the people who move around, who consume. And what's more, it's the external projection of Cabo Verde's image," he explained.
