
Mindelo, Apr 3 (Inforpress) - The Maritime and Port Institute (IMP) and the Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC) met to analyse progress, strategies and set action guidelines for the rehabilitation and enhancement of the country's historic lighthouses.
According to information from the IMP, the working meeting held on Wednesday 2nd was aimed at analysing the state of implementation of the project to upgrade Cabo Verde's historic lighthouses, with a special focus on the interventions underway at the Fontes Pereira de Melo lighthouse in Santo Antão and the Morro Negro lighthouse in Boa Vista.
‘The aim of the meeting was to carry out a technical assessment of the mission to monitor the work underway, ensuring alignment with the guidelines established in the action plan defined by the organisations involved,’ the same source explained.
The meeting also aimed to analyse in detail the strategies and modalities for awarding the lighthouses, in the light of the protocol signed between the two institutions.
