Mindelo, 2 October (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean Olympic Committee (COC) is organising a training programme in São Vicente for stakeholders in the fields of sport, education and the community, as part of the “Road to Dakar 2026” project, the organisation announced today.

In a statement sent to Inforpress, the COC explained that the event, which runs until Saturday at the Monte Sossego Primary School, aims to strengthen knowledge and promote fundamental principles for the development of a safer, more ethical, responsible and sustainable sport.

“Throughout the training programme, topics such as sustainability in sport, safeguarding and mental health in sport, anti-doping and fair play, and the prevention of match-fixing and result manipulation will be covered,” the COC statement emphasised.

According to the organisation, the training programme is intended to provide participants with tools and knowledge that they can apply in their respective fields of work
