Fogo/Accident: Foundations Donate One Million Escudos to Support Accident Victims

São Filipe, 24 September (Inforpress) – On Tuesday, the Carlos Albertino Veiga Foundation and the Chineses Foundation presented the São Filipe Municipal Council with two donations, each worth 500 contos, to support the victims and their families affected by the accident that occurred in the municipality.

The two cheques, totaling one million escudos, were handed over at the Noble Hall of the São Filipe Municipal Council, during a meeting attended by representatives of the two foundations and the municipal authorities.

According to the city council, this support comes at a time marked by grief and distress amongst the families affected by the accident, which claimed the lives of 25 people and left a further 13 injured; it is a gesture of solidarity towards the victims and their families.

The city council thanked the two foundations for their contribution and emphasised the importance of mobilising support to meet the needs of the families affected.
