Praia, Sept. 23 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde aims to strengthen its national capacity to directly access resources from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) by preparing a national institution for the accreditation process with that entity.
The information was given to the press by the National Secretary for Climate Action, Alexandre Rodrigues, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the training seminar on the Green Climate Fund’s Fiduciary Standards.
According to the official, Cabo Verde has been turning to foreign institutions and cooperation agencies accredited by the GCF to mobilize climate finance, but aims to build its own capacity to access the resources directly.
“We want to build credibility for our national institution and have the capacity to mobilize better resources,” stated Alexandre Rodrigues.
