Porto Novo, Sept. 21 (Inforpress) – The Terrimar Environmental Association collected three tons of trash on Saturday, the 19th, in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, Santo Antão, as part of a coastal cleanup campaign that involved 60 volunteers.
This organization reported that it was a “major” coastal cleanup event, held as part of International Coastal Cleanup Day, bringing together 60 people to care for the coastline.
“The result was significant: three tons of waste were collected, removing a substantial amount of trash from our coast—material that poses a threat to marine and coastal ecosystems,” the association reported.
The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee and with the support of the Porto Novo City Council.
