Mindelo, Sep 15 (Inforpress) – During her first official visit to São Vicente this Monday, the Minister of Agriculture acknowledged that challenges persist 13 months after the passage of Storm Erin, and identified water mobilization as the top priority on the agenda.
Speaking to the press, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, Eveline Ramos, stated that her agenda is focused on understanding the challenges and projects related to agriculture, fisheries, and livestock farming.
“We know that, even a year later, challenges remain—there are many challenges, especially regarding the water issue, but also concerning torrent control to prevent or mitigate the effects of climate change that emerge over time,” observed Eveline Ramos.
According to the minister, the visits scheduled for Ribeira de Vinha and Calhau have “water on the agenda,” with the water mobilization project in the latter location—involving desalination—expected to be completed by June of next year.
