Porto Inglês, Sep 11 (Inforpress) – The Maio Regional Football Association (ARFM) concluded a refereeing training course on Thursday that qualified 10 new referees and provided refresher training for another 10 active ones, aiming to strengthen regional officiating.
The training, conducted as part of preparations for the new football season, provided participants with knowledge regarding the Laws of the Game as well as refereeing principles and procedures, thereby contributing to the strengthening and enhancement of this field in the region.
The acting president of the ARFM, Zuleica Freire, explained that the initiative arose from the need to improve refereeing on the island and prepare referees for the challenges of the new season.
According to the spokesperson, the association is focusing on training and refresher courses, whilst also organising meetings with the clubs, as a way of preparing all those involved for the new season.
