Mathematics Talent Days Promote Research and Challenge the Perception That the Subject Is Difficult

Praia, 2 September (Inforpress) – The Mathematics Talent Days seek to strengthen scientific initiation, foster interest in the subject and highlight its importance, said today Nilson Moreira, a Mathematics lecturer at the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV).

The Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV) is holding the Mathematics Talent Days today and Thursday, 3 September, at the Palmarejo Grande Campus, as part of the Mathematics Talent Programme in Cabo Verde, funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Speaking to the press, Nilson Moreira explained that the initiative stems from a research introduction program aimed at students in mathematics, engineering, and other fields with “a strong mathematical component.”

According to the professor, the selected students spend nine months conducting research projects under the guidance of faculty members, and they also receive a stipend during this period.
