Santo Antão welcomes a joint mission comprising the Minister for Family Affairs and the United Nations Resident Representative

Porto Novo, 26 August (Inforpress) – The Minister for Family, Inclusion, Social Development and Labour and the resident representative of the United Nations agencies – UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA – will undertake a joint mission to the island of Santo Antão from Thursday 27th.

According to a press release, the two-day mission aims to monitor initiatives and services implemented at local level, strengthen dialogue with local authorities and community partners, and identify opportunities to accelerate the implementation of national priorities for sustainable human development.

Adélsia Almeida and David Matern have scheduled meetings with local authorities and are visiting child protection facilities, community centres, support services for victims of violence and social welfare institutions.

The Minister for Family, Inclusion, Social Development and Labour and the resident representative of the United Nations agencies UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA intend to integrate digital governance initiatives that contribute to social inclusion and strengthen the resilience of families and communities.
