Brava: The Favatal solar photovoltaic power plant has now been completed and connected to the national grid

Nova Sintra, 25 August (Inforpress) – The Favatal solar photovoltaic power station on the island of Brava has now been completed and connected to the public electricity grid, with generation tests having begun this week, the head of Águas de Ponta Preta (APP) announced today.

Speaking to Inforpress, Damian Pujol said that the project, with an installed capacity of 1.3 megawatts (MW), is expected to complete its testing in the coming weeks.

However, full-capacity operation is pending the completion of the installation of the battery storage system, a process which is also already underway on site.

Organised by the Government, through the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), and funded by the World Bank to the tune of 148,000 contos, the infrastructure forms part of a comprehensive package totalling 510,000 contos.
