Humberto Bettencourt is the new head coach of Cabo Verde’s national football team

Praia, 19 Aug (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean coach Humberto Bettencourt was officially appointed today as the new head coach of the Cape Verde national football team, succeeding Pedro Brito “Bubista” at the helm of the “Tubarões Azuis”.

The confirmation was given at a press conference in Praia by the president of the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF), Mário Semedo.

Humberto Bettencourt, 51, had been serving as assistant coach of the national team since 2021, having been part of the coaching staff during Cabo Verde's historic campaign and participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The change in technical leadership comes after the departure of Bubista, who left the Cabo Verde national team this month to take over as head coach of RS Berkane in Morocco.
