Government wants a modern pharmaceutical policy focused on people’s needs

Praia, August 18 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health argued today that there is no strong National Health System without a modern and efficient pharmaceutical policy, centered on people, announcing a budget of 300.000contos to combat stock shortages.

According to Lúcio Fernandes, health depends not only on hospitals and modern equipment, but also on getting medication to all patients, fulfilling the mission of protecting lives.

The official was speaking at the opening of a training workshop on "Management of the Supply of Medicines, Vaccines and other Health Products and Implementation of Good Pharmacy Practices," where he assured that the Government will work to achieve this objective.

 “Ensuring access to safe and affordable medicines is a priority of the Government's program strategy [...]. That is why we are working on reviewing and modernizing the national pharmaceutical policy, strengthening all drug supply chains, from acquisition to safe use by citizens,” he stated.
