China is supporting the refurbishment of three secondary schools in Santiago and Fogo

Praia, August 18 (Inforpress) – The governments of Cabo Verde and the People's Republic of China signed a cooperation protocol today for the implementation of a project to rehabilitate three schools in Cabo Verde, with Chinese technical and financial assistance.

The protocol was signed in Praia by the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Arnaldo de Brito, and the Chinese Ambassador, Zhang Yang.

The project involves the refurbishment of the Salineiro Secondary School in Ribeira Grande de Santiago, the Olegário Tavares Secondary School in São Miguel (Santiago), and the Eduardo Gomes Miranda Educational Complex in Santa Catarina on the island of Fogo – facilities originally built as part of Chinese cooperation.

In addition to the renovation of existing buildings, plans include the construction of new offices, laboratories, and dining areas, as well as the provision of teaching equipment and office furniture.
