Praia: Municipal Police announce increased personnel and focus on community policing to address urban challenges

Praia, July 3 (Inforpress) - The Praia Municipal Police will reinforce its staff with 53 more officers and intensify community policing to respond to the challenges of urban security and the growth of the municipality of Praia.

The announcement was made by the corporation's director, Jawilson da Costa, on the sidelines of the international workshop on Urban Security, held as part of the celebrations of the second anniversary of the Praia Municipal Police, under the motto "Building safer, more inclusive and sustainable cities".

According to Jawilson da Costa, the corporation currently has 57 officers, a number considered insufficient to meet the growing needs of the capital, and the recruitment and selection process for 53 more agents is already underway.

"At the moment we have 57 officers. The recruitment and selection of another 53 agents is underway. The law provides for a total of 155 officers and we expect to reach that number soon," he stated.
