Praia, 1 July (Inforpress) – A new artistic initiative is bringing colour to the capital’s neighbourhoods with the faces and history of the national football team, the Tubarões Azuis, which is supported by the European Union.
According to the organiser and painter Tutu Sousa, the project arose from a partnership with the European Union to pay tribute to the athletes competing in the World Championships, who will become “faces and stories on the capital’s walls”.
Kevin Pina, as the artist himself said, was honoured with a mural in the Craveiro Lopes neighbourhood, his home district, where the painting commemorates Cape Verde’s first World Cup goal.
Patrick, a Cape Verdean international and resident of Terra Branca, was also presented with his mural from the project by the artist and another colleague, in recognition of his contribution to the national team.
