Basketball/2027 World Cup: National team travels to Cameroon for the third qualifying round

Praia, 30 June (Inforpress) – A delegation from the Cape Verdean Basketball Federation is on its way to Douala (Cameroon) to take part in the third qualifying round for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar, following “a week of intensive preparation” in Egypt.

In a press release, the Cape Verdean Basketball Federation (FCBB) emphasised that the national team is going into the competition determined to secure qualification for the next round, aiming to pick up as many points as possible and strengthen its position in the standings.

The qualifying matches will take place between 2 and 5 July at the Japoma Multisport Complex in Douala.

The national team's schedule includes their debut against Cameroon, the hosts of this qualifying window, on July 2nd, followed by a match against South Sudan on July 4th, and against Libya on July 5th.
