Santiago: AdS celebrates ten years with a focus on modernisation and reducing water losses

Praia, 23 June (Inforpress) – The chair of the board of directors of Águas de Santiago (AdS) today gave a positive assessment of the company’s ten-year history, highlighting sustainable progress in expanding access to water and sanitation.

In an interview with Inforpress, as part of the celebrations marking AdS’s 10th anniversary, Eurídice Costa highlighted that, over this period, the company had managed to significantly increase the number of households with adequate access to water, whilst also investing in the technological modernisation of treatment systems.

She also highlighted progress in reducing distribution losses and the introduction of smart network management solutions, which have improved pressure indicators and ensured a more regular supply.

In terms of sustainability, she highlighted the implementation of projects for the reuse of wastewater and renewable energy systems at reservoir and borehole facilities as fundamental to strengthening the system’s resilience.
