Porto Novo/São João: Thousands of people filled the old municipal stadium for the Calema concert

Porto Novo, June 22 (Inforpress) – The old municipal stadium received thousands of people in the early hours of today, the 22nd, who attended the Calema concert, the headline act for the São João festivities in the municipality of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão.

This was Calemas’ first concert the island of Santo Antão, which was enthusiastically received by the crowd that completely filled the sports ground, marking one of the highlights of the São João festivities in the municipality of Porto Novo. 

In statements to the press, this band said they were surprised by the island, where they were greeted with the sound of drummers and the "colá São João" (a traditional São João dance), adding that during the hour-and-a-half concert, they could feel all the energy of their fans and admirers. 

“We were amazed by the reception, we felt at home. Our stay in Santo Antão was incredible and we want to come back,” declared the duo, who want to return to Santo Antão to get to know the island better and perform shows.
