Porto Novo, 10 June (Inforpress) – Porto Novo, on the island of Santo Antão, is the first foreign city to join the Braga 2030 Project (Portugal), which brings together a network of international partners aiming to “put their efforts at the service of communities”.

Porto Novo’s participation in the Braga 2030 Project was formalised on Tuesday 9th through a partnership agreement signed between the Porto Novo local authority and the Braga-based Synergia association, the organisation spearheading this project which “brings together the efforts of a network of partners” for the benefit of the people.

Under this partnership, which was signed by the Mayor of Porto Novo, Elisa Pinheiro, and the President of Synergia, Ricardo Sousa, a series of initiatives are planned covering areas such as social housing, the environment, health, education and community development.

For Elisa Pinheiro, this is an ambitious project that foresees the rehabilitation and construction of housing, which still constitutes a serious problem in the municipality of Porto Novo, which hopes to count on the partnership of Synergia, through the Braga 2030 Project.
