
Praia City, June 9 (Inforpress) – The National Council of PAICV, winner of the legislative elections of May 17, will meet on Saturday, the 12th, to review the general outlines of the future Government's program and ratify the nomination of Francisco Carvalho as Prime Minister.
According to the notice signed by the president of the party's General Assembly, Fátima Fialho, the meeting will focus on reviewing the policy guidelines intended to steer the PAICV’s government action in the new legislative term, as well as formally confirming Francisco Carvalho as head of the executive.
The meeting of the highest body between congresses takes place following the PAICV's victory in the legislative elections held on May 17, which gave the party a majority of seats in the National Assembly.
According to the election results, the PAICV elected 37 deputies, securing a parliamentary majority, while the Movement for Democracy (MpD) won 33 seats and the Cape Verdean Union for Independence and Democracy (UCID) obtained two deputies.
