Orlando Dias promises an MpD based on the values of justice and the fight against discrimination

Praia, May 28 (Inforpress) – MpD leadership candidate Orlando Dias said today that the party should follow new paths based on the values of justice and freedom in order to combat discrimination and reduce wage gaps and social inequality.

Through his official Facebook page, the deputy elected for the Africa constituency reiterated that this new direction should align with the principles of a fair and supportive society, capable of building an economic model with ethical limits and a new social market economy arising from a country marked by major social inequalities.

“As a candidate for the leadership of MpD, I reiterate my defence of a society grounded in the values of justice and freedom, one that values the merits and skills of all those who contribute to progress and development (…) but also a society that invests in education, culture, knowledge and science,” he stated.

He argued that the social market economy should follow a socio-economic model combining the so-called “market economy” with social policies, establishing fair competition in the market and a welfare state that values the role of workers in the production process, with decent wages that enhance the right to consumption.
