Praia, 22 July (Inforpress) – The chairman of the ANMCV’s Board of Directors, Fábio Vieira, today announced the creation of the National Network of Blue Municipalities for the Ocean, a platform that will bring together local authorities to promote sustainability and the conservation of marine resources.

Fábio Vieira was speaking during the third ordinary meeting of the General Council of the National Association of Cape Verdean Municipalities (ANMCV), of the IX mandate (2024–2028), which is taking place in the city of Praia, under the motto "For a strong, resilient Local Government that promotes sustainable development".

“Allow me to announce here that the National Association of Municipalities of Cabo Verde is moving forward with the creation of the National Network of Blue Municipalities for the Ocean. This is a platform for dialogue, coordination and cooperation, which will bring together all municipalities committed to a common sustainability agenda,” he said.

As explained, this network aims to integrate public policies and initiatives for environmental conservation, ocean protection, and the enhancement of marine resources, promoting coordinated actions that strengthen the resilience of coastal communities and ensure truly sustainable development.
