Amiro Faria portrays his experiences of Rua d'Praia on the island of São Vicente in a book

Mindelo, Jul 2 (Inforpress) - Author Amiro Faria is launching his book “Afinal quem manda na Rua d´Praia?” (After all, who runs on the Rua d'Praia?)’ on Thursday, 3 July, a work that portrays the experiences and stories of what is considered one of the most emblematic streets in the city of Mindelo

As the writer himself told Inforpress today, it's a novel with various stories about Mindelo, and especially the street, which, according to the same source, were “told in a muddled way and somewhat de-contextualised from reality”.

He also addresses conflicts between the street's regulars and the authorities, hence the name ‘After all, who's in charge of Rua d'Praia?’.

‘There are several scenes, episodes that take place in this street and in other parts of Mindelo, with characters of different temperaments, who embody the experiences of our city that have not been told,’ explained Amiro Faria.
