Praia, April 7 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde’s ability to move forward with the electronic voting in the elections depends on the consensus among political parties, said today at Praia City, the Director General of the Electoral Process Support Service, Arlinda Chantre.
Speaking to Inforpress, on the outside of a conference aimed at collecting contribution for the review of the Electoral Code taking place in Praia City (April 6 and 7), Arlinda Chantre said that at this moment “the great challenge” is the implementation of the automatic registration.
“We are concentrating all our efforts to this effect. Ensure that in the next elections all citizens over the age of 18 are automatically registered and can appear on the electoral rolls”, said Arlinda Chantre.
The Director-General of the Electoral Process Support Service said, that the automatic registration does not prevent a pilot experiment in electronic voting.
