Ecosystem: ADAD promises to plant a tree for every child born in Santiago

Praia, Apr 23 (Inforpress) – The president of the Association for the Defense of Environment and Development (ADAD), Januário Nascimento, said Monday that the institution he runs will plant a tree for each child born in Santiago, until 2025.

The information was advanced to Inforpress by the ADAD president, in the margins of activities to commemorate World Earth Day, which took place at the Achada Mato School in the City of Praia.

The official said that this is an initiative that aims to sow the culture of tree planting in Cabo Verde, an element he considers to be fundamental for the environmental balance in the planet.

For this, the ADAD has the partnership of the South and North Santiago regional hospitals, which will make available the data on children’s births to this Cabo Verdean organization that works with the environment.
