Praia, April 20 (Inforpress) – The pace of economic growth continued to accelerate in the first quarter of 2017, posting a positive evolution compared to the same quarter last year and the economic environment is favorable, according to the economic survey results.
According to information released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE) the tourism sector, residential tourism, trade in establishments and trade in fair have contributed to this upward trend.
With regard to the tourism sector, the highest value of the last 33 consecutive quarters has been recorded. However, entrepreneurs pointed to the difficulty in finding appropriately trained staff and “bureaucracy” and state regulations as the main obstacles for the sector in the first quarter of 2017.
In relation to residential tourism, the confidence indicator also maintained the upward trend of the last quarters, recording the maximum value of the series.
The retail sector reversed the downward trend of the last quarter, showing a positive performance compared to the same quarter last year and the economic environment in the sector was favorable, according to the source.
