Eco-feminism Movement CV announces activities to promote “Maternal Mental Health”

Praia, May 4 (Inforpress) – The Eco-feminism Movement CV announced a set of activities for the May, to promote and raise awareness about “Maternal Mental Health”, under the motto “Cares about the mother. Take on this cause!”

As it said in a statement, the Maternal Mental Health Movement promotes a range of activities, online and face-to-face, during the May, in order to raise awareness and demystify society about motherhood.

“Discuss the roles, beliefs and myths that structure the sociocultural view of motherhood, enabling the construction of paradigms and a powerful new culture of mental health, not only for mothers, but for society as a whole,” it reads.

The same source said that the “Maio-furta-cor” campaign, on the islands of S. Antão, S. Vicente, Santiago and Boa Vista, which aims to raise awareness on “Maternal Mental Health”.

“This campaign aims to raise awareness of the cause of maternal mental health around the world, and in Cabo Verde the group will carry out a range of activities to foster debates to promote awareness at the national level,” the statement said.

In the same document, it is also read that this campaign has as godmother the first lady, Débora Carvalho, and has the “engagement” of different feminist movements and health professionals, as well as the Eco-feminism Movement of Cabo Verde, Wake Up Queen, psychologists, obstetricnurses and physiotherapists.
