Praia, Dec 10 (Inforpress) – The Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) approved this Thursday the draft resolution on the CPLP mobility agreement, with favorable votes from all member states.
The information was released to the press by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities, Luís Felipe Tavares, at the end of the 25th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), by videoconference, under the theme “Reaffirmation of cooperation in CPLP in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After years of negotiations, since 2018, with the beginning of the presidency of Cabo Verde at CPLP, he stressed, they reached a consensus today, thanks to what he considered to be an “excellent work of Cabo Verdean diplomacy”.
“There is a consensus among the nine member states regarding the Cabo Verde proposal and it is already a significant step. We took a big step and contributed to the affirmation of citizenship at CPLP and that is what the populations were waiting for (…) and we fulfilled what we promised the populations”, he assured.
