Praia, Feb 7 (Inforpress) – The National Directorate of State Revenue (DNRE) starts, from this month, the control on issuance of transport documents for goods and other products in circulation in order to prevent and combat tax evasion and fraud in the country.
According to a publication on the official institution website, the law establishes that all goods are in circulation between economic agents, subject to VAT and REMPE, must always be accompanied by transportation documents in accordance with Decree-Law no. 61/2003, of 30 December.
This document, accordinf to the source, must discriminate, in particular, the goods transported, the sender and the consignee, as well as the time and place of dispatch and delivery, emphasizing that this legal obligation is a fundamental instrument to prevent and combat phenomena harmful to society, in particular tax evasion and fraud.
“These phenomena cause serious damage to Cabo Verdean citizens, to the national economy, to fair competition between companies and to justice and fiscal equity, and it is therefore the duty of the DNRE to exercise an enforcement action to comply with these tax obligations”, reads in the publication.
