Praia, Sept 1 (Inforpress) – The organization of the International Film Festival “Djarfogo Cine-Fest” told today that everything “is practically prepared” for the start of the 1st edition of the film event in the Island of Fogo, pointing to the mobilization of funding as the main constraint.
This information was provide by the executive director of the “Djârfogo International Film Festival” (DIFF), Guenny Pires, at a press conference to overall assessment of the preparations for the event that will take place in the island of Fogo, from November 9 to 13 this year.
“This is the largest film event to be held in Cabo Verde. This festival has great importance because it will not only promote the island of Fogo, but also Cabo Verde. We also want to work with this initiative for the development of Cabo Verdean cinema and give special attention to the training and environmental area”, he said.
At the moment the organization has the registration of about 530 films from more than 57 countries, and he stressed that 100 films will be selected from the films and national producers will still be able to apply by 25 September.
