Praia, Mar 6 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, said this Monday that interested parties can earn discounts of more than 600 000 CVE when buying electric vehicles in Cape Verde, in addition to tax incentives.
The government official, who was speaking to journalists following the inauguration of the first private charging station for private vehicles, in the city of Praia, said that within the framework of the energy transition program there is a set of incentives to encourage investment in electric vehicles.
“First there is customs exemption. Second, there is also the financial incentive program. When those interested in purchasing an electric vehicle go to the dealerships that sell the vehicles that are registered on the platform, they acquire a normal commercial vehicle already with discounts in excess of 600 000 CVE”, he explained.
In his view, this set of incentives puts initial investments in electric mobility on the same level as investments made in terms of thermal or conventional vehicles.
