Directors-General for Employment and Telecommunications committed to achieving the objectives

Praia, Jul 30 (Inforpress) – The new Director-General of Employment and the Director-General of Telecommunications expressed his commitment to work towards the goals identified as priorities in the telecommunications, employment and professional training and internships.

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony given by Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia in Praia, the new Director-General for Employment, Training and Professional Internships, Jaqueline Moniz, promised partnership with the private sector and NGOs, working to create conditions for young people to have more and more job opportunities.

He said that the target of 45.000 jobs could be achieved in this legislature, while stressing the need for everyone to engage in this matter and that the Directorate-General for Employment will create the conditions for the youth sector and address the employment problem in the country. For its part, the Director General of Telecommunications and Digital Economy, Aruna Handem, said that the main challenge of the said that the main challenge of the sector will be the activation of the digital ecosystem and the reformulation of policies that, in his opinion, have practical results in people’s lives.

“This new direction is more about governance and strategic policy making for sector development. One of the top priorities has to do with the telecommunications market itself, we know that there are still other initiatives that need to be regulated to make competitiveness possible,” he said.
