Praia, Jun 17 (Inforpress) – The new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cabo Verde in Senegal elected as a “top priority” to try to resolve the issue of maritime connection to give a “very strong” signal in the resumption of a “stronger” economic relationship.
Hermínio Moniz was speaking to the press after the swearing-in ceremony as representative of the State of Cabo Verde to the Republic of Senegal, a country he considered to still exist “a huge field of relations to be deepened”, aware that “it really is a situation to be resolved in the interests of the two countries”.
For this career diplomat, political relations “are already good, but it is really necessary to “increase the level of trade” so that in the context of the Cabo Verdean presence in ECOWAS and partnership policies in this geographical region, where Senegal “has an important role”, Cabo Verde will also play “an important role”.
Convinced that, in the context of the re-establishment of the Joint Committees and the good convergence between countries, there are all the conditions for solving the problems, Moniz said that there is an interest on the part of the authorities of the two States and, above all, a political will to solve the problems within the framework of a “very strong” partnership.
