City of Praia, April 10 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean Cycling Federation is carrying out a road safety awareness campaign for cyclists in partnership with the Boa Formação Driving School in Praia.
The initiative was put into practice on Friday, April 1, with the aim of raising awareness among drivers, especially when crossing or overtaking cyclists, and promoting a culture of greater respect for these vehicle users, encouraging more use of bicycles as “an eco-friendly means of transport with various health benefits”.
“Under the motto ‘Sit and feel’, a simulation was carried out that will be reproduced in an awareness video and disseminated on social networks and various digital platforms,” the national cycling federation’s management said in a statement.
The activity, according to the source, has the special partnership and cooperation of the General Directorate of Road Transport, Traffic Police,City Hall of Praia, Transmak Transport Company, and the Association of Taxi Drivers and Owners, among others.
