Praia, Dec 9 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Nelson Moreira, said on Wednesday that, at this moment, the level of development and investment made in that municipality “is not worthy” of its historical legacy.
The mayor made these statements to Inforpress, on the sidelines of the inauguration of an information panel with images and text summarizing the history of the ancient Aéropostale Hydrobase, a pioneering aviation company founded in 1919, in France, located in Calheta de São Martinho.
“Development is somewhat below the level expected. That is why we are open to working in partnership with the entire society, because we understand that the development of Ribeira Grande is huge, but the responsibility has to be shared”, he said.
As Ribeira Grande is a historic city, the first in Cabo Verde, said the newly installed Mayor, the City Hall has to be a partner in order to disseminate it so that people can learn about its history.
