Cultural activities mark the Portuguese language Day and Culture in the CPLP

Praia, May 3 (Inforpress) – An exhibition, recitation of poetry and a musical concert with the Portuguese fado singer Gil do Carmo will mark on Thursday, 4th, in Cabo Verde, the Portuguese Language and Culture Day at the CPLP, at the Portuguese Cultural Center (CCP) in Praia City.

According to a note from the CCP, the activities begin at 5:30 p.m.in the auditorium of this institution, with an exhibition titled “O tempo da Língua”, followed by a film screening “Língua vidas em português”, at 6:00 p.m.

Around 9:00 pm, a session of declamation of poetry and a musical concert with the Portuguese fado singer Gil do Carmo are scheduled, who will be accompanied by Miguel Veras (guitar) and Ndu Carlos (percussion).

Portuguese is the fourth most spoken language in the world, currently by 261 million people, on five continents and is projected to reach 380 million people by the middle of the 21st century. It is still the most spoken language in the Southern Hemisphere, one of the five languages ​​with the most users on the digital platforms and working language in 32 international organizations.
