Praia, Feb 15 (Inforpress) – The Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) co-organizes, in partnership with Unesco and UNODC, on the 18th this month, an online debate on the theme “Strengthening the Rule of Law through Education: From theory to practice ”.
The event, according to the document released by CPLP, celebrates the launch of Unesco and UNODC publications in Portuguese, with the titles “Strengthening the Rule of Law through Education: A Guide for Policymakers” and “Empowering Students to Fair Societies: A Guide for Secondary Education Teachers”.
The meeting brings together government officials, policy makers from the education and justice sectors, and entities from different CPLP countries, will allow a reflection on the challenges, trends and opportunities to promote the principles of the rule of law through education.
The opening of the event taking place on videoconference will be made by the Executive Secretary of CPLP, the Global Coordinator of the Global Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration of UNODC, the representation of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (Unesco) in Brazil and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), also resident in Brazil.
The meeting will be interpreted in Sign Language Libras and broadcast live on the CPLP Youtube channel.
