Praia, 23 Mar (Inforpress) – The support to the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, started last week, has been “very good”, told the National Director of Health, Jorge Noel Barreto, stating that about 1.730 health professionals have already been vaccinated.
Jorge Noel Barreto, who was speaking Monday at the usual press conference to take stock of the pandemic in Cabo Verde, said that vaccination so far of 1.730 health professionals represents 40 percent (%) of what is foreseen in the National Vaccination Plan.
“The accession has been very good. We had some situations where people were still undecided, which is perfectly normal. We have been saying that vaccination is not mandatory, but it is recommended,” he said.
The national director of health also stressed that “it is normal” for people to have doubts and do not know whether they want to get vaccine or not, but in any case they have been made aware and many accepting vaccination, because they understood that it is a benefit they are having at the moment.
The vaccination campaign started on Friday, 19th, throughout the country, with the Pfizer vaccine.
