Covid-19: United Nations in Cabo Verde promote solidarity campaign to mobilize funds in response to the pandemic

Praia, Apr 8 (Inforpress) – The United Nations System in Cabo Verde has started a solidarity campaign that runs until April 11, involving its employees who will voluntarily donate a monetary amount to help in the ongoing Government actions.

In a statement sent to Inforpress, the United Nations System in Cabo Verde explained that this initiative is part of the celebrations of World Health Day marked on April 7th and this year is celebrated under the theme “it comes at a very difficult time for all of us”.

“Thus, due to the current context, the United Nations in Cabo Verde marks this day in a different way, combining the solidarity of its employees with the efforts and all the work the Organization has been developing with the Government, in order to respond to the Covid-19 epidemic in the country ”, reads the note, which highlights that the organization intends with this symbolic gesture to help in the ongoing actions, both in terms of health and social inclusion.

The same source said that the total to be collected will later be deposited in the State Treasury account, which was created exclusively for voluntary contributions to support the most vulnerable in this fight against COVID 19.
