Praia, Oct 29 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, admitted that all political parties were “very bad” during the election campaign, by allowing crowds of people against the guidelines of health authorities.
Ulisses Correia e Silva spoke this Wednesday during the parliamentary debate on “the health, economic and social responses to the new pandemic context” and following an intervention by the UCID’s MP, António Monteiro, who considered the ongoing debate a “hypocrisy”.
“During the local elections campaign we saw the political parties, PAICV and MpD, bringing together people without thinking about COVID-19 and today we are having the debate as a hypocrisy about Cabo Verdean civil society, which is not acceptable”, said the UCID’s MP.
In reaction, the Prime Minister said that he is also of the opinion that during the local elections campaign all political parties were poorly photographed.
“All the candidates were poorly photographed, the code of ethics signed with the CNE was not fulfilled, there were gatherings, yes sir, there were rallies on the streets, there was pick-ups transporting hundreds of people and I mean everyone was badly photographed and it is necessary to recognize this so that the messages we transmit are a message of credibility”, said the head of the Government.
