Praia, Oct 14 (Inforpress) – The African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV-opposition party) said Tuesday, through its parliamentary leader, Rui Semedo, to be concerned if all conditions have been taken into consideration before the international airports reopened.
“The issue of opening our borders should happen sooner or later, because we cannot be isolated in the world and all countries in the world are creating conditions for the opening of their borders”, said Rui Semedo.
The PAICV parliamentary leader was speaking at a press conference in Praia to take stock of the parliamentary days leading up to the first plenary session in October, which kicks off this Wednesday.
“What concerns us is whether all the conditions have been taken into consideration so that this opening does not mean, at the outset, the increase in cases of infection. In this case, we are concerned if the Government is really taking the necessary measures to guarantee the health security for all Cabo Verdeans, but also for those who visit us”, he added.
