COVID-19: Increase in cases recorded since February puts pressure on National Health Service

Ribeira Grande, Apr 16 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health, Arlindo do Rosário, said on Friday, in Ribeira Grande, the increase in cases of COVID-19 recorded since the end of February is creating pressure on the National Health System.

According to Arlindo do Rosário, “most of the cases recorded in the country so far have evolved asymptomatically, but since February there has been an increase in symptomatic cases, and this ends up creating pressure on health services and the National Health System (SNS).

The government identifies several reasons for the increase in cases of COVID-19 in the country, the first of which has to do with the fact people are not following the guidelines of the health authorities.

“The uses of masks have been getting smaller and smaller, the private parties continue to take place, discos, pub’s, that is, several situations where there is the possibility of crowding people,” said Arlindo do Rosário, who did not leave out the election campaigns, especially the ‘streets’, which “have also contributed to the increase in cases”, as he said.
