Praia, Apr 23 (Inforpress) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved 32.3 million dollars financing disbursement to Cabo Verde, (about 3.2 billion escudos) intended to combat the effects of COVID-19 in the Cabo Verdean economy and society.
The information was gave in a Government’s statement, which states that with this “important financing”, approved on Wednesday, 22nd, the Government will reinforce investment in the health sector not only to combat the virus, but also to make the sector more resilient and more responsive.
This will be done, the note reads, by strengthening access to health care, increasing coverage for all and all regions, with high quality, leaving no one behind.
The same source adds that part of that amount will be channeled towards measures aimed at protecting the income of the most vulnerable families.
