COVID-19 / Fogo: People who were quarantined released after test by the Praia d’Aguada ship captain

São Filipe, May 25 (Inforpress) – The three people who had been quarantined since Wednesday were released earlier this Sunday afternoon, after the test result of the Praia d’Aguada ship captain
was negative.

The three people, being two agency employees and a national police officer, were placed in isolation, first in the village of Almada, but later transferred to the Casa Oceano complex, located near the São Francisco Hospital.

According to the authorities, they were in isolation as a precaution, for having contact with the Praia d’Aguada ship crew, last Wednesday. This decision was made following the visit to the Fogo Island by the Praia d’Aguada captain, “without authorization and without having previously tested for the new coronavirus”.

On the occasion, the São Filipe Health delegate explained that people in contact with the crew were placed in isolation, until tests and announcement the results.

One of the people contacted by Inforpress said they left the isolation shortly after 12:00 pm today, Sunday, after announcement of the test result of the ship’s captain and with a negative result.
