Covid-19 / Fogo: Company suspended activities and almost to three dozen livestock farmers face difficulties

São Filipe, Apr 7 (Inforpress) – The Suifogo company, which works in the production of livestock products, suspended its activities more than a week ago due to measures to prevent and combat the new coronavirus and and almost 30 livestock farmers face difficulties.

According to some livestock farmers / raw material suppliers to this processing company, since beginning of March, with restrictions on the entry of tourists, it rationalized production resulting in the reduction of the volume of milk supply for the manufacture of cheese and curd.

For livestock farmers, just over a week ago, with the prevention measures for the new coronavirus (covid-19), the company halted production and all its activities, thus leaving approximately 30 livestock farmers in a “complicated situation”.

João José de Andrade, also known as Djoy, who before the problem of the new coronavirus supplied nearly 50 liters of milk daily to the company, told Inforpress that with the stoppage and suspension of production he and the other livestock farmers, who were experiencing difficult situations resulting from consecutive droughts, are now “more fragile and without alternatives”.
