Praia, Jul 13 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Karate Federation (FCK) revealed that, in compliance with the Government’s guidelines regarding the suspension of sports activities, it will invest in online training for coaches and leaders during the pandemic.
FCK President João Carvalho Correia told Inforpress on Friday that this strategy was adopted with the purpose of safeguarding the entire karate community, as it is a sport whose activity requires “a very close gathering among its practitioners” , format “incompatible with health service recommendations”.
To Inforpress, João Carvalho Correia said that the Federation has been conducting some online training on technical and administrative arbitration, in a very pedagogical way, within the framework of the recommendations and guidelines from the World Federation (WKF) and the African Karate Federation (FAK). Carvalho informed that from their homes, athletes have been following the guidelines in the communication platforms created for this purpose.
In particular, he revealed that on the island of São Vicente there has been a training activity for coaches, taught by coach Rui Spencer and it has been “very well” and similar actions will be carried out on the other islands, as long as there are means for their materialization.
