COVID-19: Cabo Verde with more recovered than hospitalized and one additional death recorded

Praia, Jun 30 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde recorded its 13th fatal victim associated with the new coronavirus on Monday in Praia, announced the National Director of Health, stressing that the country has had for several days more recovered patients than hospitalized.

At the usual daily press conference to take stock of the disease in Cabo Verde and on the day that the country had ten more new cases of COVID-19, all in Praia, as well as the latest fatal victim, Artur Correia stated that among weeks from June 1 to 14, there were two peaks of new cases, but from June 15 to 21, there was a decrease in the epidemic in Cabo Verde.

In the meantime, he informed that in the week of June 22 to 28, there was a “slight rise”, guaranteeing that “there is always a tendency to lower the peaks”, despite the existence of “several fronts” with outbreaks on the islands of Santiago and Sal, stressing that almost 50% of the cases were announced in the last three days are from the previous week.

“At the moment, we have 543 patients hospitalized, and of these, 12 are in hospital isolation, seven at Agostinho Neto Hospital, four in North Santiago and one in Sal Island. Since the beginning of the epidemic in March, 607 patients have recovered (52.7 %), in other words, we have more recovered than hospitalized at national level for several days”, he said, lamenting the 13 deaths that the country has already registered, eight in the municipality of Praia.
